North Dorset District Council takes a fresh and innovative approach to its procurement. Although small in size, it seeks to maximise resources in the pursuit of a best value solution. It has a focused and knowledgeable team of council Members, senior managers and staff who have employed a mixed model for the procurement of the councils goods, works and services. The council sought a partner to provide a managed service to improve the delivery and cost effectiveness of its ICT services. This change of provision reflects the council's re-organisation and strategy to improve public services at optimum cost using the most appropriate suppliers.
