90 percent of IT executives say IT value is critical or very important, according to a survey of CIOs and IT executives from Deloitte & Touche. But two-thirds acknowledge that they have not been successful in measuring and communicating value, and nearly half say that executive management consistently understates the value of IT as a result. IT departments will continue to be asked to reduce spending and do more with less until CIOs find an effective way to tie IT spending to performance.
