The client needed a development partner to help reengineer its flagship product and add new functionality to the next-generation product. The new functionality had to meet the existing needs of the healthcare industry, including HIPAA requirements. They chose Paragon Solutions as their offshore development partner. A modified version of the Rational Unified Process (RUP) was used to record requirements, translate requirements to design and code, and manage the project. The project was executed in phases and iterations. Clearly defined roles and communication lines were established among the client and the onshore and offshore teams that provided clear communication and speedy resolution of issues.
