The customer is a leading, global public relations firm with offices around the world whose emphasis on intelligent, targeted communication has garnered them numerous and prestigious awards. The customer has had a global, 16-site, ATM core backbone with Global Crossing since 2000, and was in the market for a secure, reliable, and cost-effective back-up network to support their business-critical document transmission, applications and Internet usage in the unlikely event of a failure. The customer's heavy usage of multicasting applications (streaming video, web conferencing and voice-over technologies), made an ISDN solution inappropriate. Global Crossing's dedicated account team designed a unique IP VPN network that includes 16 domestic and 7 international sites (Milan, Madrid, London, and Munich are already up, with Toronto, Paris, and Mexico City coming soon). Global Crossing's IP VPN is a seamless back-up solution, using a fully-meshed MPLS IP-based network covering more than 200 cities worldwide.
