In the summer of 2001, Telia sold some parts of the company, including the subcontractors Swedia Networks, Neterna and Relacom, in order to improve their focus on the core business of communication. This also caused a need to split up the network, which they decided to do using the Multi- Protocol Label Switching technique. Telia selected Global Knowledge, a worldwide leader in IT education and enterprise training solutions, as its partner to tailor a learning solution for them. In cooperation with Telia, Global Knowledge developed a joint training program to match the needs of Telia's environment and the actual employees' knowledge.
