This paper investigates planning approaches to the practical problem of composing stream processing applications from a set of processing components. The problems of assembling components into an application that achieves a specified goal has become an important research topic. Recently AI planning approaches have been successfully applied in similar applications such as web services, business processes, component-based software composition, automated installation.
