With a staff of 13, the North Las Vegas Code Enforcement Division responds to citizen complaints about possible city code violations. They wanted to use mobile technology to let code enforcement officers access information and issue violation notices in the field. North Las Vegas implemented HP iPAQ Pocket PC 3870s, HP Deskjet 450 mobile printers and HP Photosmart 620 cameras to provide officers with the mobility they need, streamline violation processing and reduce in-office hours. Instead of manually entering case information, officers now download the information from iPAQs to office PCs.
