El Camino Hospital in Mountain View, Calif., is exactly what you would expect of a hospital in the heart of Silicon Valley. The independent, 426-bed facility relies extensively on technology to improve the quality and efficiency of medical care its patients receive. El Camino conducted a study to test the viability of HP Tablet PCs to enable hospitalists to rapidly access patient information wirelessly. The specific goal of the test was to figure out if the HP Tablet PC was a valuable tool for hospitalists using their current applications and processes. The HP Tablet PC improved patient care due to faster access to patient information.
