Virtual Directories already play an important role in enabling federated identity solutions. OctetString is extending its product further to support aspects of SAML that will both ease the deployment of federated identity services and ensure that both new and legacy applications get the most out of these deployments. This whitepaper discusses the link between federation and virtualization technology and the steps that OctetString has taken and will be taking to more closely align these technologies to give businesses an easy way to get the information needed about users in both new and legacy applications.
