In recent years, increasing attention has been paid to multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) broadband wireless communication systems. Multiple antennas at both the transmitter and the receiver open up effective multiple parallel spatial data pipes or add diversity. The goal of this paper is to present a physical scattering model that predicts experimentally observed MIMO macrocellular channel responses. The flexibility of the approach makes it suitable for system level simulations of MIMO communication systems.
