The Othello One single-chip direct-conversion GSM/GPRS RFIC builds on the technology first used in the award-winning Othello GSM RF chipset. It provides a significant reduction in component count, bill-of-materials cost, and board area compared to the original version. Othello One integrates the RF transceiver, multi-band Fractional-N PLL synthesizer, LNAs for all three GSM bands, RF power control, and low drop-out (LDO) voltage regulators. Othello One can be used for GSM/GPRS portables, and supports EDGE with the addition of an external modulator chip.
