GrafTech International, Inc. is one of the world's largest manufacturers and providers of high-quality natural and synthetic graphite and carbon-based products and services. GrafTech's vision is to extend its supply chain beyond the company walls-to bring suppliers and customers into the capacity-planning process. The company needed an easy-to-implement, cost-effective supply chain management (SCM) solution that would allow it to introduce new processes to manage plant capacity and product scheduling on a company-wide basis. GrafTech implemented PeopleSoft financial software. This managed plant capacity and product scheduling on company-wide basis, bought suppliers and customers into the capacity-planning process and maximized plant uptime and resources.
