WellPoint has always focused on growing shareholder value. Seeking to increase its cost-effectiveness without hurting its quality of service, WellPoint recently looked for ways to reduce its administrative costs. WellPoint has successfully upgraded to PeopleSoft 8.3 Human Capital Management with the goal of streamlining and automating HCM processes. This implementation eliminated the cost and hassle of dealing with an outside vendor for benefits enrollment, streamlined payroll processing and freed up HR staff for strategic activities such as reducing turnover, increasing retention of top performers, and developing associates. A human capital management (HCM) strategy powered by PeopleSoft was also implemented.
