Health First is the largest not-for-profit healthcare system on Central Florida's eastern seaboard. Health First lacked a system-wide view of supplies, leading to redundant inventory - and skyrocketing costs. And, without an effective tracking system, Health First was losing hundreds of thousands of dollars each year in missed or inaccurate patient charges. To reduce the high cost of medical supply inventory, ensure accurate patient chargebacks, and improve its purchasing processes, Health First turned to PeopleSoft. This implementation decreased inventory on hand, improved capture of supply, reduced supplier payments to zero terms with two to 3 percent savings in early payment discounts.
