In Visual Studio Tools for Office, Version 2005 Beta 1, Microsoft takes a big step toward enabling server scenarios for Office. This paper introduces some of the business scenarios that can use Office on the server. It discusses the architecture decisions to consider when you create a solution that uses Office on the server. Finally, it uses code snippets from the associated sample solution to present a fully working scenario that demonstrates working with data in Word and Excel, and shows several of the new Visual Studio Tools for Office, Version 2005 Beta 1 features.
