Toyota Motor Corporation is the world's third largest carmaker. To achieve its ambitious market growth goals, Toyota Motor Manufacturing North America (TMMNA) needed to control costs while optimizing employee productivity. With PeopleSoft, TMMNA laid the groundwork for becoming a real-time enterprise by automating business processes, improving visibility, and controlling expenses. This implementation drove cost reductions by automating HR processes and optimized employee efficiency. It reduced time HR staff spends on transactional tasks, leaving more time for value-added activities. TMMNA is using the portal and PeopleTools to develop a workforce management application to give group leaders on the plant floor information on employee attendance, safety policies, training, and overtime.
