Largest cable provider in Shanghai, China Shanghai Cable Network (SCN) is the only cable operator in China offering voice, video, and data services over a single, converged network. SCN faced the demand for new services and higher-speed transport, need to evolve SDH-based network for video on demand (VoD), high-speed Internet access, and digital television and business customers demanding Ethernet Layer 2 VPNs, IP/Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) VPNs, and high-speed data to businesses. SCN implemented Cisco IP/MPLS network using Cisco Catalyst 6509 and Cisco Catalyst 4507R switches with Cisco 10000 Series Routers for aggregating Ethernet; Cisco uBR-10012 Universal Broadband Router for aggregating cable broadband traffic.
