The business regulatory environment in the United States (U.S.) has changed. Public companies have new obligations to report on the effectiveness of their internal controls. Key executive officers of all publicly held companies are now required to certify to their shareholders the financial statements they produce, along with the internal controls that they have in place to safeguard the assets of the company. Although these obligations have previously existed in a weaker form in the U.S., the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOA) of 2002 has strengthened and broadened them. Oracle provides a solution that will allow executives to have confidence in the effectiveness of their internal controls and testing and save money on the ongoing audit and assurance processes.
