Agence Francaise de Developpement (AFD), a public utility company, is part of the French official development assistance program. AFD came up with an ambitious strategic orientation plan that called for extending loan offers to new countries and shifting investment focus to sectors with global scope such as water or access to social services. One part consisted of modernizing AFD's accounting and finance-based information system by incorporating it into comprehensive enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution from Oracle. The other focused on reorganizing and automating key functions of the company, particularly those related to purchasing and suppliers. Users benefit from an additional supplier accounting system, management of accounts payable, and payment deadline monitoring functions.
