Transports Mesguen specializes in contracting and logistics for freight shipping. To manage resource sharing and scheduling, Transport Mesguen developed in-house tools for managing its operations and optimizing traffic. In 2001, Transports Mesguen decided that it must drastically reduce its computer infrastructure costs and opted for a more efficient computer system. The best response, in terms of DBMS, came from Oracle, whose Cluster model specifications with Oracle9i Database with Real Application Clusters (Oracle9i RAC) was head and shoulders above the rest. With Oracle9i Application Server's integrated decision-making tools, department heads have access to statistics and indicators that speed up the decision process.
