Energy Resources of Australia Limited (ERA) is the world's third largest uranium producer. The company's information infrastructure had to be easily managed and supported from a single, central location. The company also needed to find a quick and cost-effective way to deploy the new 32-bit MIMS application in its aging IT environment. The company found its answer in a server-based computing solution comprised of Citrix MetaFrame and Microsoft Windows NT Server 4.0, Terminal Server Edition software. MetaFrame gave the ability to centrally deploy and manage applications across several locations, and to roll out thin client devices, important benefits in our rugged mining operations environment.
