E-Government is the application of e-business to government. It is not simply defined as e-commerce transactions; it is about using technology to redefine organizational models in order to extend relevance and maximize value. It is the realm of technology - enabled transformation. This document investigates the requirements e-government places on Information Technology (IT) infrastructures, and provides guidelines for creating an infrastructure that offers the flexibility and reliability necessary to support the constant evolution of processes in the e-government world.
