The Warehouse Builder is a tool that generates data integration processing code (based on the user's design), deploys this code to an Oracle database and lets the user run and maintain the generated code as an ongoing day-by-day operation. The first part of this paper deals with specific Oracle 9i and 10g database features used either explicitly or transparently by Warehouse Builder. The second part deals with specific Warehouse Builder functionalities and how, if properly managed, they can significantly enhance the data extraction, transformation and loading (ETL) performance.
