The Client is a leading mobile device vendor. The challenge is to implements the client side search functionality of LDAP protocol on Symbian OS. The solution was Development on Symbian OS V6.x, can be ported onto V7.x and V8 .x, which is available as a dynamically linked library on Series 60 SDK and Crystal SDK. Applications can link with this library and start using high-level LDAP APIs as recommended by the OpenLDAP standards. LDAP Client consists of the following sub components LDAP protocol APIs and BER APIs. The benefits to the client were time to market solution available, corporate data access services and authentication services.
