This paper considers the applications that next generation and 3G networks offer. Each is based on a set of capabilities, which can be used to define new services. While SIP is a major protocol, it is not the only one. Bringing together all these capabilities and interfaces results in a complex space within which existing services can be enriched and new services defined.
