Bluetooth technology and the Internet are to be utilised in domestic stair lifts for the first time as part of a development project now underway at Brighouse-based motor speed controls manufacturer Controlled Speed Engineering. Designed to make elderly and disabled people who rely on stair lifts for mobility within their homes feel less vulnerable the innovation will enable remote monitoring and diagnosis of faults to inform carers and contractors of immediate or future problems with equipment.
