The Irish Revenue is responsible for the collection and management of taxes and duties within the Irish Republic. Processing more than 3 million tax returns per annum, the incentive to adopt on-line taxation services was clear. Revenue found the cost of processing and administering forms ever-increasing - as was the time and resources required to manage the infrastructure itself. The initiative was entitled 'Revenue On-Line Service (ROS)' and was developed jointly by the department itself and Accenture. The objective of Revenue On-Line has always been clear and explicitly defined - further develop customer service by making it as easy as possible for customers to deal with Revenue.
