HCL's client is a leading provider of consumer electronic end products and was looking for partners with knowledge in SIP and VoIP to support in building a 3G enabled mobile handset. The client had an existing 2.5G mobile handset, and wanted to develop a 3G based mobile handset. HCLT ported the TCP/IP stack to the target platform, and also performed tests on the stack. It also ported SIP stack onto the device, and developed a messaging application. The customer was able to quickly define the various requirements of the product, and to quickly build a prototype for demonstration purposes.
