The University of Utah, like many peer institutions, has been faced with a growing demand for general access network ports in support of mobile computing applications. Providing network connectivity for students and faculty in the classroom, as well as providing networking services to the student housing facilities, recently became a critical issue for the University of Utah to address. This technical white paper outlines the benefits, methodology, and implementation of Authenticated Network Access (ANA), as developed by the University of Utah.
