San Antonio Independent School District (SAISD) has a vision for educational excellence that leads it to invest in technologies that foster collaboration and communication. When Internet access was first implemented, the district's 60,000 students and staff quickly put the new technology to the test. Rapid usage growth quickly overloaded SAISD's initial Internet gateway infrastructure. Seeking to improve performance, SAISD deployed the NetApp Internet access and security (IAS) solution and replaced these caches with a single NetCache content delivery appliance. As soon as the NetCache system was installed, the Internet gateway was able to deliver all the content that was requested.
