The Children's Medical Research Institute (CMRI) is a state-of-the-art facility where world-class researchers and modern technology are combined to find cures for diseases that take the lives of children. The Institute's ageing computer storage system was failing to meet the needs of the more than 60 computers in use at the site and required constant upgrading to increase storage capacity. The EMC product chosen was the CLARiiON IP4700, a highly available, fast and scalable Network Attached Storage (NAS) system, which is ideal for information-centric environments like the CMRI. It was designed to be easy to install, configure and maintain, yet deliver power and high availability to everyone on the network.
