Zurich Australia, owned by the Swiss-based worldwide Zurich Group, offers a wide range of investment and risk management products to corporate, commercial and personal customers - both direct and through advisers and brokers. The datacentre was located on the top floor of an eight-storey, curtain style building. A restaurant kitchen underneath posed a fire risk to Zurich's critical data. Additionally there was no redundant air conditioning and only one telecommunications cable out of the building via Telstra and Optus. The EMC plan allowed Zurich to consolidate their storage infrastructure to one Symmetrix 5700 and two Symmetrix 8730s.
