The USDA's IT infrastructure is subject to frequent and often malicious attacks. Because each agency and/or office tracks and manages its own IT assets semi-independently, attacks are often hard to detect, diagnose, and control before significant damage occurs. Computer & Hi-tech Management, Inc. has engineered a solution that permits centralized assignment, tracking, and management of USDA IP Addresses while allowing for data collection and maintenance at the individual agency/field office level. CHM designed and developed a solution using Microsoft VB.NET, C#, MSDE (desktop SQL Server) and SQL Server 2000 Enterprise that tracks and manages USDA IP Addresses and collects data at the individual agency/field office level.
