Simply put, WAP is a protocol stack. More specifically, WAP is a standards-based communication-protocol suite and application environment for wireless communication. WAP is streamlined for devices such as Personal Digital Assistants (PDAs) and mobile phones that offer limited RAM, ROM, processor speed, and displays. In addition, it works well in low-bandwidth, high-latency wireless networks.
