Wipro's client is a Japanese mobile phone manufacturer. The challenge was to develop software for i-mode based mobile phones on an unstable platform, with evolving customer specifications and to develop these applications based on NTT's DoJa specification, to be used on mobile phones. A class for 64 bit floating point arithmetic was implemented, as DoJa did not support floating point arithmetic. The calculator supported many useful scientific operations. GNU math library functions in C were ported to this platform, to implement functions like sin, cos, log, exp, etc. This resulted in faster, compact and stable applications and early to market solution provided customer with critical time-to-market advantage.
