Earth Satellite Corporation is a value-added provider of satellite remotely sensed images. The challenge was to provide data infrastructure that supports entry into new markets and achieve massive scale and high performance at low cost of ownership with managing productivity of multiple users in highly dynamic and distributed environment with limited amount of disk space. EarthSat installed SAN built on robust Sun technology, including servers, workstations, and storage. EarthSat also deployed Sun StorEdge Performance Suite software featuring Sun StorEdge QFS software to provide the needed shared access to data and to overcome previous network and file-system bottlenecks.
