Network Based Application Recognition (nBAR) is an intelligent classification engine in Cisco IOS Software that can recognize a wide variety of applications, including Web-based and client/server applications. RTP payload is the data transported by RTP in a packet. RTP Payload Classification is a powerful tool that provides customers with stateful mechanism to identify audio and video traffic in their network. This paper provides an overview of Network Based Application Recognition. It also explains the various features of RTP payload.
