Telefonica Celular CELTEL S.A. provides CDMA mobile voice and data services to customers throughout Honduras. CELTEL recognized that as their subscribers shifted from analogue to digital handsets, there was the opportunity to deliver a much broader range of mobile information and services. These new handsets already supported browsing of information in the WAP format, so CELTEL began researching infrastructure requirements for offering their subscribers information via WAP. CELTEL chose the Infinite WAP Gateway from Captaris. CELTEL found that the Captaris product allows them to redirect all users to a WAP page of their choice, when they make their initial connection.
