IBM is one of the largest software development companies in the world. IBM develops applications for internal use, as well as applications that are sold to customers. IBM zSeries servers, with their outstanding virtualization capabilities, have long been a key resource for IBM in software development environments. Since the development environment is typically made up of a combination of idle users and working users, the usage profile of that environment is ideally suited for hosting on a zSeries server. This paper provides a brief overview of the advantages that a shared virtual environment can bring to the development process.
