A Global 500 financial services firm had the challenge to utilize readily available SONET/SDH bandwidth for the extension of disk mirroring to meet escalating data storage and BC requirements. Global implemented CIENA's CN 2000 that was designed to leverage the existing SONET/SDH infrastructure to affordably and reliably provide full enterprise storage backup. CIENA's storage extension solution gave the firm the flexibility it needed to optimize its use of SONET leased lines for connectivity to its remote data centers.
