In this paper the results of the design and the implementation of a new COFDM radio transmitter for telemetry applications in the automotive environment, based on TMS320C6000 DSP is presented. The obtained performance, along with the flexibility of the software approach, makes the proposed DSP based implementation effective for telemetry applications in the automotive environment, where state of the art performance, size and weights are critical aspects with respect to hardware complexity or cost.
