City Utilities of Springfield, MO provides state-of-the-art Gigabit Ethernet for businesses through its SpringNet division. The SpringNet division of the City Utilities of Springfield, MO faced increasing business demand for a high-speed Internet infrastructure. Foundry Networks provided the solution they needed with optical transport of native Gigabit Ethernet and high-density Layer 2/3 Switching to create a metropolitan access network (MAN). Foundry's solution for private Virtual Local Area Networks (VLANs) also brought new functionality and ease of maintenance to SpringNet's business-to-business customers. With Foundry devices, Layer 2 VLAN connection can be handed off across the MAN at multiple locations.
