IBM Business Partner Gruppo PRO is an Italian software company where managers pay particular attention to small-and-medium businesses (SMB) in fashion, ceramics, transportation, and distribution. Gruppo PRO managers needed a Web portal solution they could use internally and also offer to customers, while increasing sales of enterprise resource planning applications and lowering development costs. Gruppo PRO officials chose IBM WebSphere Portal as the foundation for its J-Portal solution used at its customer, Fonderie Sime, a major manufacturer and distributor of boilers. Because of IBM WebSphere Portal: The custom code required for application development was eliminated by 30 percent.
