The Internet is changing, evolving, we can see it every day being simple users but one of the most important evolution not yet visible by the end users but already occurring right now is the implementation of IPv6 the new internet protocol, which will substitute the current IPv4 protocol in the future. This paper first describes the changes occurring in the DNS structure and then tries to find out and insist on what are the main issues to the DNS scalability facing these changes and cohabitation period.
