The BBC has been a world leader in programme production since it was formed in 1922. Prior to the implementation of SAP R/3, the BBC had multiple, old and inefficient systems for managing its business. SAP R/3 provided the platform for implementing significant business process improvements, especially in the purchasing and accounting processes. The BBC deployed SAP Portals Enterprise Unification Portal (EUP), within a single browser window that accesses multiple data sources. The EUP uses patented Drag and Relate navigation, enabling users to find information very quickly, and then to, easily make logical discoveries by dragging and dropping hyperlink information attributes onto desired views.
