SPIDCOM Technologies, a French fabless chip company, developed FLIP, an innovative flexible powerline modem technology that resolved speed, interference, and cost issues. The Challenge was to bring new powerline modem FLIP technology to market that provides reliable data transfer while avoiding power spikes. Deploying RapidChip permitted SPIDCOM to add an Ethernet MAC interface and a PCI interface to the system for linking to the user's PC in the customer premises equipment (CPE) or to the backbone of the data network, if the device is used in central office equipment.
