B'z wanted to use innovative technologies that would enable them to perform their concerts in the United States while entertaining their Japanese fans with an unforgettable concert. The challenge was to perform a live broadcast through the internet at a large-scale across Japan and the United States. This initiative was part of a larger project driven by the Contents Routing Network Forum (CRNF) focused on validating the quality and scalability of a large-scale distribution broadcast using IPv6 technologies. Unlike many other encoding solutions, Winnov's encoding system offered the most cost-effective and robust solution. Winnov provided J-Stream with a video streaming appliance capable of simultaneously digitizing and compressing up to four NTSC analog inputs for broadcast over the Internet.
