Until the release of Service Pack 1 for VERITAS Volume Manager 3.1 for Windows 2000, Cluster Disk Groups could not be created on the same bus as the disk that contains the system or boot partition/volume. This restriction was placed there to eliminate the potential for interrupting the Operating System or access to the pagefile during bus resets when a cluster failover occurred. Users of VERITAS Volume Manager requested that this limitation be removed from the product to facilitate booting from a SAN.
