This paper describes the procedures and results obtained from testing the Cisco MDS 9000 Series of storage area network (SAN) devices at the Microsoft Systems Architecture (MSA) test lab in Redmond, Washington. For the purpose of testing SAN devices, all storage devices were attached to the SAN. Some servers acted as network-attached storage (NAS) front-ends to clients, but these servers used storage from the SAN.
