This paper presents a video enhancement technique using adaptive linear combination of weighted medians for HDTV. The proposed scheme can improve the sharpness and naturalness of the image while reducing noise effectively. High definition television (HDTV) system has been expected to be widely used on the broadcasting, educational, industrial, and medical fields. Video enhancement improving the low sharpness of video images and reducing noise is an important issue for HDTV system, which provides high-quality displaying of video images.
